Do you want to develop high levels of physical and mental skills through creative expression? Through the study of dance, students gain an understanding and appreciation of dance as an art form.

From ballet to modern and jazz to hip-hop, study techniques of respective styles from highly-trained dance instructors.

Classes are also open to non-dance majors to just enjoy the sheer pleasure of movement.

Careers in Dance

Step, twirl, and pirouette into university and college programs, professional careers, or other creative ventures.

• Be a dance instructor or become a business owner and run your own dance studio.
• Hone your study and join a dance company in the U.S. or abroad or become a choreographer.
• Manage other dancers and performers.
• Use your industry knowledge to enter into marketing and public relations or web design and social media management for a dance company.

A Dance major can be found at many bachelor’s granting institutions. Some universities and colleges may even have similar, but more specified majors to explore, that could align better with your interests. Examples include Musical Theater, Arts Management, Exercise Science, and many more.
